High Voltage Joints

Merqab supplies high voltage cable joints for the jointing of MV and HV power cables in underground transmission and distribution systems. Our range includes pre-moulded cold shrink joints, push-on separable connectors, and heat shrink joint systems for MV cables up to 36kV, as well as jointing systems for HV transmission cables at higher voltage levels. HV cable joints must maintain the electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance of the cable system over its full service life — typically 30 to 40 years. Incorrect joint selection or poor installation workmanship are leading causes of HV cable system failures, which can result in extended outages and significant repair costs. All HV cable joints we supply are tested and type-approved to IEC 60840 (for cables rated above 30kV) and IEC 60502-4 (for cables up to 30kV).
